where we first established our toy making business in 1985.

You can find us just off the A6, 4 miles south of Penrith, at the crossroads in the middle of Askham, opposite the Queen's Head pub.

If travelling on the M6 north, leave at the Shap junction 39 & follow signs for Shap. Stay on the A6, go through Shap and continue along this road for approx. 5 miles until you reach the village of Hackthorpe. Take the first turning on the left once you have gone through Hackthorpe and follow signs for Askham. You will go past Lowther Castle, past the church and down a steep section to the river. Once over the bridge at the bottom of the hill, be careful of the red squirrels as you travel up the village to the crossroads. Look to your right for the Queen's Head pub. We are in the long barn on the opposite side of the road.

If travelling on the M6 south, leave at the Penrith junction 40, take second left off roundabout & follow signs for Shap A6. Take the 4th exit off next roundabout signed Shap A6. Look for mini-roundabout after Eamont Bridge traffic lights and turn right, signed Askham B5320. Travel past Yanwath and look for left turn (by Yanwath School) after the railway bridge. This road is signed Askham and will take you into the village. Queen's Head pub is on your left as you arrive and our workshop is in the long barn on the right.

The Lowther Valley

We are situated in the picturesque conservation village of Askham in the beautiful
Lowther Valley in North Cumbria.
We have many interesting and popular attractions on our doorstep
including the spectacular scenery of the Lake District.
Wonderful walks and pony trekking with magnificent views of Ullswater lake.
We will provide links to these in due course.
We recommend the new Jersey Ice Cream Farm just down the road from us...yum yum!!
