Welcome to Our Workshop
For over four decades, we’ve been lovingly creating and restoring traditional toys from toy farms, castles, and doll’s houses to special one-off commissions, each made or renewed with genuine care and attention to detail.
Our toy restoration service breathes new life into old favourites, preserving memories and craftsmanship so they can be enjoyed once again and passed on for generations to come.
In a world of plastic and mass production, classic handmade toys stand apart. Their charm, durability, and timeless appeal continue to capture hearts of all ages and we’re proud to play a part in keeping this treasured tradition alive.

Just popped in to the toy works with our 23 month old twin boys and 5 year old daughter. Boys were delighted to see the working train in the shop, think they could have happily stayed, lovely to see the workshop too!Posted on Bel Smith13/12/2017recommendsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Facebook. I just picked up my farm that I commissioned from the Toy Works and it’s amazing! Such a fab reminder of where I grew up and my son has been playing with it non stop since we collected it. Paul has done an incredible job, his farm brings back amazing memories for me of the real farm, which I didn’t expect! Paul was so patient from the onset, very friendly and listened carefully as I described what the buildings were used for. He was also very patient as I miscounted windows on the old buildings and had to leave numerous messages apologising that I’d got the details wrong! Great service and a gorgeous family toy to keep forever. Thanks so much!Posted on Mark Jackson05/03/2017recommendsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Facebook. the toy works is a one of a kind wonderland for kids young and old and is well worth a visitPosted on Lisa Briody26/01/2017recommendsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Facebook. EXCELLENT Based on 5 reviews Posted on Paulusmc18/02/2019Verified Well worth a visit. Visited whilst staying the area. More from curiosity than anything else. Found it a fascinating experience with the owner very friendly and knowledgable. Gave me a tip for painting our grandsons wooden castle - thanks. Oh, and I bet you won't leave without spending £4.99....................Posted on Heather W06/12/2018Verified Personalised Memory Box We contacted Paul 2 years ago looking for a personalised, handmade wooden memory box for our grandson's christening and we couldn't have found anyone better. Not only did he build it with loving care to our exact requirements, he delivered it to my parents' house as we couldn't make it up from Lancashire. It is much cherished by and full of photos and cards and memories! Over a year later, we contacted Paul to make another for our next grandson's christening...he made an exact replica in record time...beautifully handcrafted, sending us photos along the way so we could choose lettering at a distance and making it exactly to our requirements. An amazing craftsman which is so hard to find and particularly one so keen to make what you want and to see it through your eyes. We'll definitely be back...what a find!!Posted on Karen T22/08/2018Verified Treasure trove Great wee find. The owner was restoring an old wooden rocking horse. There were dolls houses and a vast amount of lovely toys, games plus past treasures. Well worth a visit. Also recommend the coffee shop in front of it.Posted on Claire H28/04/2017Verified Aladdins cave A wonderful trip down memory lane for wooden and traditional toy lovers. Despite our kids all being teenagers the owner came up with a wooden toy/trick/magic puzzle which will keep them guessing for ages. Would thoroughly recommend and great to see a business like this these days.Posted on Nick T26/10/2016Verified Enthusiastic owner We came looking for the village bakery & found this excellent toy shop full of beautiful toys, many made by the owner. There were amazing farm sets & dolls houses. The simple propeller game was the biggest hit. Thank you
GOOD Based on 6 reviews Posted on Neil Douglas27/01/2021Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Paul has just carefully repaired an old toy of my father's, something he had since his childhood and which I remember playing with as a child; sadly Dad died last year. Despite the job being a small one Paul took time to send me photos of work he had done previously and sent me photos and a video of the repaired toy before asking for payment. Excellent service, and I felt confident that my treasured possession was well looked after. I would highly recommend Paul to anybody.Posted on Malcolm Findlay06/07/2019Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great little shop selling a range of toys, mainly wooden ones. Some of the toys available are made by the owner including dollhouses and castles made from wood. There is also a little train that runs round the shop which takes a 20p coin to run (as a donation to charity).Posted on Ian Hamblin07/05/2018Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
