Custom Model Farms

Below is a selection of bespoke model farms that I have made for customers.
These farms have all been made after extensive site visits and lots of reference photographs to capture the required details to produce a life-like model.

Wraysholme Tower Model Farm

Reproducing a 15th century three storey pele tower house, together with a model of the whole farm. ‘Wraysholme Tower Farm’ is located at Allithwaite, between Grange-over-Sands and Flookborough in Cumbria, on the road that leads to ‘Humphrey Head’,  (allegedly the site of the killing of the last wolf in England in the 14th century).

Heber House Farm

‘Heber House Farm’ is located at Leck on the border between North Yorkshire and Cumbria, on Lord Shuttleworth’s estate.

The lady commissioned me to make a model of their farm for her son. She wanted it detailed enough for her son to know it was the farm he lived on during school holidays, as they lived in London and it was going to be kept there.

Sanders Farm House

This model of the 17th century ‘Sanders Farm House’, in the village of Borwick, Near Carnforth, Lancashire. This was going to be a present for the Grandson of the lady who lived on the farm. The farm was no longer used as a working farm, but all of the buildings were still intact and well maintained. The farm house is a listed building with very distinct Vernacular Architecture. Once again it is about getting the details right.

Woodpecker Promotional Items

Producing promotional items for a publicity company in Leeds who were doing an advertising campaign for a large company. They wanted 3000 little men on springs that would wobble down a pole, (like the woodpecker toys that peck their way from the top of a metal pole to the bottom).

Little Red Tractor

Early in 2000 I was approached by the National Farmers Union about making a Sit-N-Ride toy based on the new logo for the ‘British Farm Standard’ mark to be displayed on food packaging.

The reason they wanted this to be like a toy was due to the fact the then Prime Minister, Tony Blair and his wife had just become parents again with the birth of their son, Leo.

Department Store Dolls House

This commission was for our local Vicar’s wife. She had this idea of building a five story Department Store based on the period from the early 1920’s. She had pictured this store in her mind and then seen some windows that she wanted to incorporate into the design, along with a revolving entrance door to the foyer area.
